Kindred mothers serves new, experienced & expectant mothers by creating a network of education, support, connection and shared experience.  We exist to provide a space where all mothers can gather to connect, receive intellectual, educative and emotional support, as well as share experiences in a positive and nurturing environment.

We are mothers who have truly learned the importance of community.  We are here to connect - To provide a hub for mothers to meet and share experiences, to offer advice and compassion, reassurance and a normalization of the experiences with becoming a new mother.

We are currently in the research and development stage, collecting feedback from the community and speaking with organizations interested in future collaboration.  In an effort to maintain transparency we are happy to disclose that we have filed for our 501 (c)3 tax exemption status with a local attorney and are awaiting full approval from the IRS.  We are recognized as an entity with the State of Virginia and the SCC.  We are also in the process of building up our board of directors and are seeking interested and motivated parties to help us achieve the goals and objectives set out in our bylaws.  If you or someone you know may be interested in a position on our board, we would love to hear from you!  Please feel free to email us at info@kindredmothers.com.  We are opening our own space in early April with 8 talented instructors offering a fusion of rhythmic cycle and barre classes in an intimate studio setting.

A center that remains open during normal business hours providing all mothers a place to meet, provide encouragement and instruction with the intention of promoting positive postpartum mental health.  The center will be available for drop-in socialization, use by local support groups as well as hosting educative discussions held by local nurses, OBGYN's, & Pediatricians.  An informal, comfortable setting that is welcoming and safe for mothers as well as their children.  To bring our mothers together as well as bridge the gap between our local families and the medical community.  We will exist as an intervention mechanism to lower the risks of depression, anxiety, and perinatal stress before, during, and after pregnancy through camaraderie and education.  We look forward to working with you to help make this dream a reality.
